The Uwell Caliburn Koko Pod Kit is the latest release from Uwell and a rather exciting update on the trendy Caliburn pod mod.

Uwell got many things right with the original Caliburn; most importantly, it delivered an excellent vape in such a compact kit.

The Caliburn Koko has a more modern box design than its predecessor, and it also utilizes the same refillable pods. There’s also a new 1.2ohm resistance pod included in the kit.

Despite its different form factor, Uwell has still only managed to fit a 520mAh internal battery in the Caliburn Koko.

DESIGN & BATTERY CAPACITY

There’s also no designated fire button on the Koko; it is only draw-activated.

Thankfully, they have kept the LED indicator light to see the device’s battery status, and it’s chargeable via a micro USB port on the bottom.

The 2ml capacity pods keep the same form factor where you have to pull off the top to refill, which is a little fiddly. The pods will slot into the front side of the Koko device and are held in place by magnets.

There is a small airflow hole on the device’s front side, but unfortunately, the airflow is not adjustable. Hopefully, it will deliver a draw just like the original.

The Koko also comes with a small necklace that fits on the device’s backside so it can be worn around your neck.

CALIBURN VS CALIBURN KOKO

The Caliburn & Koko are virtually the same for features; both take the same 2ml refillable pods and both vape pretty similarly when it comes to user experience. Apart from the noticeable design differences, the most standout difference would be how you trigger a vape. The Original Caliburn has the added benefit of both an auto-draw sensor + a button trigger. For some, this isn’t a game-changer, but for those coming from older units, you may miss the button trigger. Let’s not push the Koko to the shadows here, as the auto-sensor performed a little better during our testing than the original Caliburn. It felt more reactive and didn’t miss fire or drop off during a single long draw, which sometimes, not often, the Caliburn will do. We can see why Uwell decided to ditch the button on the Koko.
